What this is
Institutional Research is AcadStat's commissioned research service for organisations that need a study, evaluation, assessment, or evidence base to support a decision, programme, policy, intervention, strategy, or organisational objective.
An organisation may come to us with a clearly defined research brief, or simply with a problem it needs to understand. AcadStat can work with the organisation to define the research question, develop the study design, prepare the instruments, obtain the necessary approvals, coordinate data collection, manage the resulting data, conduct the analysis, interpret the findings, and produce the final report.
This allows an organisation to engage one research partner to coordinate the different stages of a project rather than assembling separate teams for design, fieldwork, data management, analysis, and reporting.
This may include commissioned research for universities, NGOs, development organisations, health systems, businesses, government related programmes, foundations, international organisations, and other institutions working in Nigeria and beyond.
Monitoring and evaluation can also fall within this service when the organisation needs to understand programme performance, outcomes, implementation, reach, effectiveness, or other defined indicators.
When you need it
You need Institutional Research when your organisation has a question that requires structured evidence and you want a research partner capable of managing the work.
You may need to understand a population, assess a programme, evaluate an intervention, investigate a problem, generate evidence for a strategic decision, conduct a baseline or follow up study, understand implementation, or produce an independent assessment.
You may already have a detailed research brief, or you may need support translating an organisational problem into a researchable question.
What AcadStat delivers
AcadStat can manage the research lifecycle according to the scope of the commission.
This may include research scoping, study design, protocol development, sampling, instrument development or review, ethics documentation, fieldwork planning, data collection, data management, statistical or qualitative analysis, interpretation, reporting, presentation of findings, and relevant research documentation.
For projects that require only selected stages, the organisation can commission the specific services needed. For projects requiring a complete research operation, AcadStat can coordinate the work across the full research process.
The final output depends on the brief and may include an analytical dataset, research report, statistical tables, figures, qualitative findings, evaluation report, technical documentation, executive summary, or presentation of findings.
Confidentiality, methodological transparency, appropriate documentation, and evidence that can withstand scrutiny remain central throughout the work.
